The New Zealand Peer Support Trust provides a student leader manual and a teacher manual which sets out the peer support programme.
The Peer Leader Manual
The student leader manual is designed to be given to each student and used as a record of the programme each student works through with their student leader. The manual outlines the units which make up the programme including the activities which are an essential part of the programme. The manual is designed as a handbook for the student leaders who will be responsible for a peer support group for the duration of the programme.
A new edition of the manual is now available. The manual has been completely revised with new activities and new energisers.
The Teacher Manual
The teacher manual provides guidance to teachers who are leading the peer support programme in their school. It covers such topics as:
- What is Peer Support ?
- Planning and implementing a peer support programme including constructing the programme.
- Student leader training.
The manual includes practical activities which are explained and practiced in the training sessions.
